Vanya Welcome Home Office Lunch Party

It finally happened! Olga, Ark Mission’s financial department employee, adopted Vanya from Kemerovo, Russia . Vanya is an outgoing, lively, and very intelligent four-year-old! Our Executive Director and Ark Mission staff decided to arrange a “Welcome Home” lunch party to celebrate Vanya’s arrival.

The invitations were sent out, the food was ordered, and everyone was eagerly awaiting to see Olga’s son, Vanya. There were a lot of people that came to Ark Mission’s office and everyone was completely overjoyed by this precious little boy. Vanya welcomed everyone by saying “Hello” and shaking hands. He sat down on the floor and was surrounded by a mountain of colorful presents that the guests were so kind to bring. Vanya opened each present with some help from his big sister and all of a sudden the room came alive.

There were sounds of musical toys, robots, little toy cars, laughing, and exuberant chatting coming from the office. An expression of amazement and joy was on everyone’s face, and it was easy to tell that every person in the room shared Olga’s excitement and happiness of having Vanya home. Many people stood next to Vanya and watched how this little boy, who was brought here from a different country, was opening presents and playing with toys that he has never seen before. It is truly an honor and a privilege to be able to give this child a warm and safe place to live in, where he is surrounded by many people who love and care about him! I hope that we will be able to give this opportunity to many more children who are anxiously waiting to be adopted. After all, these innocent children can bring as much joy and happiness to their new families as Vanya did to Olga and her family!
