Healthy Smiles Mean Happy Children!

When someone takes a picture of you they usually tell you “Say Cheese!” making you open your mouth and reveal your teeth. People spend a lot of time making sure their pearly whites are in good condition. Unfortunately, children in Nepal do not have the basic necessities such as a toothbrush, toothpaste, and they almost never get to see the dentist. Currently there are more than 133 children that require dental treatment of which 55 children are less than 3 years old.

Ark Mission recently received a request from Nepal Children Organization (NCO), asking us to help conduct a dental camp with the help of local dentists. This camp will take place on the premises of Bal Mandir. Doctors will examine the oral health of the children and prescribe medicine accordingly. Simple treatments like simple extraction of the tooth/teeth will be done in the dental camp. More complex treatments will be done in the clinic, which will charge a nominal amount for the services provided. Ark Mission aspires to make this an annual tradition for children to receive dental checkups.  This is an enormous opportunity for Nepalese children to obtain dental treatment and make the first steps towards improving their health. Please, help us make these children’s lives better so that they can smile often without feeling the aggravating pain of a toothache. Based on the information gathered, we have come up with the following budget for the dental camp:

Average cost of treatment per child: - NRs. 350/-
