Summer Vacation for the Orphans and their Friends from USA

The success of the summer programs launched in the past two years, made us decide to continue with the tradition. With more experience and determination we intend to keep our promise: to make a real difference in the lives of many orphans.
Because it is time to give a chance to more abandoned children to have a wonderful summer, we set up a new summer program which is going to be held on
May 10th - May 30th 2006.

Ark Mission, in collaboration with Friends Around the World (Non- profit Organization from Russia), rented a beautiful camp in an exquisite location in Russia. This camp is planned to host 120 orphans with their guests for twenty days. There will be children ages 5 to 12 years old, who are waiting for you to join them. We invite all American families who want to spend an unforgettable summer, to be part of our program. We offer you the chance to travel to a beautiful location and have a wonderful time with the most amazing children.

Ark Mission sponsors the program (for 120 orphans), but if you are interested in sponsoring a child, we will gladly offer the opportunity to participate to more children.
The cost for one child is $ 250 (7,000 rubles) and for one adult is $ 500. These fees include 5 meals a day, room and transportation from Moscow to the region. The flight tickets to Moscow for the families are going to be on their own expenses.

The camp includes all facilities needed for living properly and the environment is very special. Near the camp, the river offers the opportunity for swimming. Peaceful nature surrounds the camp and makes outside activities possible. There will be a lot of fun and joy for children and families. Curious and eager learners, the kids are looking forward to learning new games, songs, and to forget for a while, the simple reality. In the evenings, everybody will enjoy the bonfire, telling stories and quiet music. If anybody in the family plays musical instruments, they will be more than welcome to bring them in the camp.
Another special activity is going to be the art therapy. During the 20 days, there will be held 6 sessions of art therapy for the children, therapy which involves the whole group. The children will have the chance to become more patient, more relaxed but involved at the same time, in doing art projects. This is why we encourage all families to bring art supplies and to effectively participate in this project.
Doing so many activities and spending 20 days together, families and children will become a big family. Having a family, even for a short time will make an absolutely unforgettable summer for everyone! To make the communication between families and children easier, a group of volunteers supporting our mission will provide translation. The language barrier will be easily broken by the children‚–“s openness and their willingness to communicate. Of course, everyone understands the universal language of friendship and love by a simple smile or a helping hand.

We invite you to get to know the orphans and to have a special time. Two different worlds will live together and both will end this journey knowing more about each other, being spiritually enhanced.
Be part of our mission, accept the invitation for three weeks of fun and excitement and enjoy being part of a big, happy family!

Easter Greetings
to All of You!

On a Saturday in March, some very special ladies in northern Vermont were hard at work in assembly-line fashion. They belong to the Ladies’ Fellowship group of the Wolcott Church of the Nazarene and were working to send an Easter greeting to the 3-7 year old children at an orphanage in Eastern Europe. The ladies filled 144 decorated bags with coloring books, crayons, stickers and, of course, Easter candy, inserted a personal Easter greeting (in Russian!) and tied them with ribbon.
