We have received a letter that almost brought tears to our eyes. It was a letter, written by a group of the older girls, who live in one orphanage abroad. We would like to tell you how we have received it and share this letter with you. Recently, our regional coordinator has visited the orphanage (which is by the way a great orphanage for school age children, located in the Eastern Europe and we have some older girls from this orphanage on our photolisting). When our coordinator was leaving the building, one girl has approached her and told that she has a letter that she and her girlfriends has written and she is asking to take this letter and to mail it to America. Our coordinator has read the letter and kissed the girl. She told to the girl that she would tell to the American friends that the girls from this orphanage are strongly hoping to be adopted. When we have received the letter, we understood again that we, together with you, are doing very important work in finding adoptive parents for the children who are waiting. We cannot describe their wait in words. We cannot describe their hope in words. Each child experiences it individually. Pain and expectations of each child are also individual. However, all of them hope for the best: they wish to be lucky enough to have the adoptive parents.
This is the brief translation of the letter:
“Dear our American Friends, We, the girls of the orphanage # … are asking you to help us in finding our parents. In the winter, two of our girlfriends left with their parents to the USA. Not long time after we have received a parcel, they are writing that they attend school and they have started to speak a little English, that
they have very good moms and dads. And that they are waiting for us to visit. They sent some candies and presents to us. Before we were a little afraid to go to America but now when we have friends there, we are not afraid anymore. And if our moms and dads live in the US, we will be happy to go with them, thank you for you help. Girls…”
Ark Mission is asking you, all people who cannot be indifferent to these girls letter, to help to the older girls to find the adoptive parents. We have many older girls, ages 7 and up from these orphanage. Their hope and they cry for help is expressed in this spontaneous, emotional and very
hopeful group letter. |
