On a Saturday in March, some very special ladies in northern Vermont were hard at work in assembly-line fashion. They belong to the Ladies’ Fellowship group of the Wolcott Church of the Nazarene and were working to send an Easter greeting to the 3-7 year old children at an orphanage in Eastern Europe. The ladies filled 144 decorated bags with coloring books, crayons, stickers and, of course, Easter candy, inserted a personal Easter greeting (in Russian!) and tied them with ribbon. The bags filled two very large boxes and are now on their way to the orphan children! The ladies of Wolcott aren’t finished yet…they are hard at work planning Project Christmas Slipper 2004! Their goal is to send crocheted/knitted/polar fleece slippers, hats and mittens for each of the children at the orphanage.
